We are currently seeking a Quality Technician III for a client in Wallingford, CT.
 
Overview:  
Must have a minimum of 7 years of advanced inspection (detailed layouts and setups) and visual inspection experience for receiving, first article, first piece, in-process, final, and non-routine inspection activities of components (i.e., parts, sub- assemblies, finished goods, tooling, gages, fixtures, etc.). Perform any other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
  • High school education, technical school education, or equivalent with mathematics emphasis.
  • ASQ CQT certification and calibration experience preferred.
  • Experience with working in multiple industries/quality systems inspecting high precision, tight tolerance parts, sub-assemblies, and finished goods preferred (e.g., Aerospace (ISO 9001/AS9100), Automotive (IATF 16949), Medical Device (ISO 13485), Government, Military, or Other).
  • Experience in working in a high paced environment within various production scenarios (low/high quantity production runs).

               Yes - Occasional supplier or customer visit.
 
Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following qualifications, but not limited to:
All positions at Company require access to information and/or technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other U.S. government security regulations. These laws do not permit access rights to non-U.S. citizens or to other unauthorized individuals. Therefore, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Resident Green Card Holders and/or otherwise comply with ITAR requirements to be considered for a position at Company.
 
The candidate must have the following physical qualifications, but not limited to:
Must have good eyesight, whether natural or corrected.
Must have good dexterity sufficient to operate inspection and test equipment for precise inspection work.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. throughout the workday and perform work requiring frequent stooping, bending, sitting, standing, etc.
 
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
The candidate must have knowledge of the following duties, but not limited to:
Must have proficient blueprint reading and GD&T skills (including true position, profile of a line, profile of a surface, etc.), able to interpret customer blueprints, drawings, material specifications, mil-specs, etc. in accordance with government and/or customer contract requirements, an understanding of the PPAP process, program and operate Vision Systems/CMM’s (Starrett preferred), able to use a variety of inspection, measuring, and test equipment (i.e. comparators, various micrometers, calipers, various indicators, gage pins, concentricity gages, hardness testers, etc. and proficient in surface plate setups using digital height gages, test indicators, height gages, sine plates, v-blocks, gage blocks, etc.), develop work instructions, inspection method setup sheets, establish and maintain quality forms and records, mentors Tech 1 and 2 inspectors, anticipates inspection needs and is able to react to system data without the need for direction but is sensitive to the nature of the event to escalate as necessary, notifies area managers/operators when inspection results exceed acceptable limits, creates nonconforming material reports, and maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, good housekeeping standards, good documentation practices, good manufacturing practices, observes and promotes company processes, makes recommendations for improvement, participates in lean initiatives, and performs other duties as required.

Pay Rate: $35 per hour
