We are seeking a Sales Manager to work at a chemical company in Fairfield County, CT.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Participate in developing and creating a marketing strategy to produce demand
     for our Products.
  2. Gather market information to provide fact-based input for strategic planning and resource allocation.
  3. Identify potential prospects within our markets.
  4. Solicit sales/product opportunities from prospective customers through hands-on interactive communication
  5. Manage sales process, from initial contact to customer onboarding; coordinating activities between prospective customers and company internal departments
  6. Partner with Product Owners to provide customer insight into product quality, assist with new product development, and build product features, benefits, and comparison data.
  7. Maintain technical knowledge of our products and markets to communicate with customers and suppliers effectively.
  8. Determine pricing strategy taking into account customer willingness to pay, industry trends, and operational cost limitations
  9. Collaborate with the R&D team to identify opportunities.
  10. Participate in industry forums and trade show events.
  11. Invest in thought leadership (e.g., create market-specific technical resources).
  12. Review industry and competitor news to formulate future growth strategies
  13. Create detailed account plans for existing customers
  14. Establish and foster relationships with key contacts with existing and potential customers
  15. Develop plan to grow sales revenue within existing portfolios (customers and markets)
  16. Select and manage distributor and manufacturer’s rep partners
  17. Develop and maintain a prospect list with product commercialization dates, revenue projections, and confidence/risk levels.
  18. Maintain accurate and timely contact and sales pipeline information.
  19. Establish a sales operations process to track a deal from unqualified prospect to commercialized product.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • 5-10+ years chemical contract/toll manufacturing sales experience
  • Knowledge of the Specialty Chemical market, such as: dental composites, personal care, semi-conductor/printed circuit board, UV curable coatings, printing/packaging
  • Experience using a CRM
  • High degree of organization and self-motivation
  • Experience with leveraging social media platforms and technical resources to raise awareness of products and industry developments/opportunities.
