Environmental Justice Project Coordinator

We are seeking an Environmental Justice Project Coordinator work a hybrid schedule in White Plains, NY. Overview:This role is responsible for coordinating the department of Environmental Justice’s (EJ) program activities and will be part of an existing team of EJ coordinators who are responsible for raising awareness of companies programs and initiatives. Candidate must be willing to travel throughout NY State and work outside normal business hours for events. Responsibilities:Develop and implement energy efficiency and educational programs within Environmental Justice communities, schools, state and city organizations consistent with companies mission, and goals. Track, monitor and influence government actions that impact companies business plan and policies via direct involvement at the local level. Research and report to Manager on issues pertaining to Environmental Justice communities. Actively research opportunities for companies representation in targeted local, regional &/or professional organizations to enhance companiess profile. Research and report on the field of energy and the environment including but not limited to energy efficiency, energy services, transmission, electric vehicles, climate change, renewable generation & the clean energy marketplace. Recognize opportunities to leverage companies community resources to further company goals. Prepare written reports & presentations for management. Skills and Abilities:Highly effective verbal, written & presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in diverse communities, understanding ethnic, social and economic issues. High degree of motivation, with the ability to handle competing priorities, while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail. Ability to undertake significant travel, weekend and evening work to coincide with community events and workshops. Experience in community outreach, curriculum development or account management preferred.Awareness of issues related to energy environment and economic development and the Utility industry.Education:Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Engineering or related field. Director of Payroll

We are currently seeking a Director of Payroll for a client in New Haven, CT HYBRID. OverviewThe Director of Payroll will be responsible for managing and overseeing all payroll procedures for the organization. Manage a team of Payroll Specialists to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and collective bargaining agreements. Core ResponsibilitiesOversees the day-to-day payroll processing to ensure all payroll tasks to include commission payroll to the field force, are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Verifies payroll data for completeness and accuracy to ensure data in ADP is correct.Develops and articulates a short-term and long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.Manages, plans, organizes, and evaluates the staff and activities in support of an assigned area of Payroll.Collaborating with outsourced provider (ADP) to streamline payroll processes and addressing any issues.Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; manages and implements staffing requirements and ensures customer service levels are met and ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.Serving as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related questions, issues and concerns.Collaborating with HR, Finance, and Field Management departments to ensure information is integrated as expected to the payroll system.Partners with Corporate Finance and Tax to advise on upcoming special pays and resolve any financial discrepancies or issues; partners with Legal and HR team to offer guidance on policy and pay practices for union and non-union staff, as necessary.Liaises with HR and Field Management in planning processes to assist in developing solutions to improve the overall efficiency of Payroll/Commissions; oversees the resolution of complex payroll issues, customer concerns and inquiries and resolves errors related to payroll processing or special pays.As assigned, may oversee bank reconciliation process, payroll general ledger reconciliation, development, payroll year end process, and review of audit reports and inquiries; ensures correction of payment issues prior to closing payroll.Skills QualificationsMust possess a strong understanding of payroll procedures and payroll tax regulations and have experience supervising a team.Must have experience working with multi-state payrolls and union payrolls.Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail required.Must be able to follow-through on pending items and prioritize accordingly.Additionally, must be able to communicate effectively and have ability to work well as a liaison between the staff and senior management.The ideal candidate will have at least 7-10 years of experience in Payroll (ADP) and be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.In addition, must have advanced Excel skills, including working knowledge of V-lookups and Pivot tables.Must be proficient in using payroll software (ADP Payroll is preferred) and Time & Attendance software.Responsible for change management activities to drive user adoption.Performs project tasks as required to maintain project timelines.Ensures payroll milestones within the project are met on time and delivered with quality.Coaches and mentors payroll project team members.
