Cable Assembler

Main duties:

• Building boards from scratch and some rework

• Cable assembly
  • Manual assembly of cables
    • Crimping
    • Terminating 
    • Rework
• PC Board Assembly
  • Soldering – Primarily through hole but some SMT components as well
  • Rework
  • Certification in soldering a plus
• Mechanical Assembly
  • Some light box build typically done on a bench

Qualities:

• Must be able to work independently
• Must be able to read and work from drawings and sketches
• Capable of identifying issues in documentation and red line if needed
• Must have some level of component knowledge
• Communicates well and can work directly with engineers
• Can work from redlined drawings and sketches
• Able to work in high mix low volume environment (Not a lot of repeat work)
• Basic computer skills
• Must be dependable and responsible as they will be the primary person for assembly
