Looking for a Lead QA Engineer to develop and lead the strategy and execution of manual & automaton testing of Big Data software components..  The lead for quality assurance of this key component will help us build strong QA processes and solid, reusable pieces of our testing framework that includes practical, beneficial automated tests being run – as part of our continuous integration environment.  If you have the ability to architect an automation framework to accomplish that goal and lead a team for execution–this is the position for you.



  • Build strategy and design for testing of the Big data application – for both Batch and Real time ingestion and extract of data as well as business logic. Strategy should include coverage for acceptance, regression and performance testing – manual and automation
  • Work with QA leads of other teams, DevOps & Development to architect an automation framework including selection for tools for a test automation framework
  • Create a test automation framework, areas of coverage to include:
    • Feature testing - Data ingestion, Data transformations/validations and extracts
    • Regression testing
    • Load testing
    • Security vulnerability testing
  • Leverage agile testing methods of BDD, ATDD, Exploratory testing, End to end testing
  • Work Enterprise wide, with members of cross-product team to contribute to the planning, execution, analysis, and tuning efforts to deliver high-performing end to end applications.
  • Leverage agile methodology to design strategy for continuous in-sprint testing
  • Work with developers and support personnel to identify and correct defects
  • Participate in periodic release activities
  • Work with Software Development team to brainstorm and test new ideas



• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field highly preferred
• 5+ years of QA experience in a commercial software environment
• 3+ years of QA automation experience
• Significant experience with Big Data (preferably Cloudera Hadoop), Queue frameworks (preferably Kafka), JSON, REST APIs, SQL, Scrum, Agile
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment
• A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts
• Healthcare experience a plus
