Position Summary and Special Duties: As a CNC/CAM Programmer your day to day duties will consist of and may not be limited to:Job Summary:The CNC/CAM Programmer role is an important member of our programming and engineering team supporting production of precision aerospace components. This role acts as s the liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing (Operations) teams. You will focus on the process development and programming of CNC equipment including multi-axis lathes, Swiss screw machines, vertical machining centers, and grinders. You will split time between programming in a CAM (Computer Aid Manufacturing) environment and performing hands-on set-up on the production floor.Major Areas of Responsibility:Utilizing ESPIRT CAM software, develop CNC programs (g-code) that optimize the best manufacturing methods to produces precision and ultra-precision components. Work within the Engineering & Manufacturing teams to develop manufacturing processes, preferred tooling & work-holding, in-process deburring and metrology that will become the approved work instructions to Production team. Document all selections in ESPIRT tooling and datasheet libraries.Leverage parametric programming, macros, and CAM software to optimize programs across a family of parts.Set-up and operate production equipment during the initial process development of new parts. Determine ideal set-up, tool paths, material removal rates, finish, and yield. Train production personnel for smooth transition to ensure reproducibility in mass production. Manage programs and machine & tool set-up data within the company’s product data management (PDM) and Distributed Numerical Control DNC systems.Serve as in-house subject matter expert, participating in lean events to optimize existing released products that can reduce set-up, reduce machine time, or otherwise improve productivity and quality.Stay in touch with the latest manufacturing technology through the research of equipment, software, tooling, and gaging systems. Make recommendations on productivity improvements related to technology investments. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.Requirements:Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering preferred and/or progressive on the job experience commensurate without a degree.Five or more years of advanced manufacturing experience, preferably in a precision or ultra-precision machining centers.Expert knowledge of CNC programming such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and Okuma controls, using advanced programming techniques.Frequent user of CAM software programs. ESPIRT is preferred. Others such as Mastercam, PartMaker, or SolidCAM are acceptable.Familiar with operating with a manufacturing enterprise software – experience with EPCIOR or similar is bonus.Strong knowledge of work-holding, tooling systems and set-up of CNC machines.DETAILS:Duration: Direct hireLocation: East Hartford, CTSalary: open depending on experienceBenefits: Full BenefitsQualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately!

Ability to understand blueprints, operation sheets, and procedures. Use of standard measuring equipment including micrometers and indicators; Calipers, height gage. QUALIFICATIONS: 1-2 years of experience as an inspector and/or NDT technician. Able to communicate verbally and/or in writing with other workers, members, or supervision, and others as necessary. Operate the equipment (Deburr guns, hand tools, Grit Blaster) associated with 1st run and rework parts. Hand adjusting of parts to make corrections. Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a production/shop position. Able to use advanced math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals, or percentages. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of personnel.Includes written and oral communication. Must be able to follow complex instructions and/or directions. May require ability to decide on a course/sequence of action. Must be able to schedule and organize time effectively to satisfactorily complete assigned.
