Manufacturing Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Managing the transfer of engineering designs to the contract manufacturing supply base
- Development of manufacturing and assembly processes for large scale equipment that includes fluid systems, structural components, instrumentation, and electrical systems
- Designing assembly and test equipment/fixtures when required
- Creating work instructions, specifications, and procedures
- Managing component qualification such as First Article Inspections (FAI), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies (Gage R&R), Statistical Process Control (SPC) programs
- Engineering documentation management with supply base including initial releases, design reviews, change control and implementation, deviation management
- Management of Bills of Material (BOM), Approved Manufacturer Lists (AML), Cost tracking and management
- Continuous Improvement and value engineering efforts to support product cost reduction targets
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of failures, deviations, out-of-control processes and excessive fall out
- Participation in the process Failure Modes and Effect Analysis pFMEA) process and coordination with sub-contractors
Qualifications
- Bachler’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline is required;
- 5+ years of experience in a production environment;
- Experience bringing new products from engineering to high volume production;
- Preferred experience in 3D CAD, especially PTC Creo a plus;
