We are currently seeking a FAA Shot Peen Operator in East Granby, CT As a (an) FAA Shot Peen Operator your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Challenge: Perform a variety of duties to plan, set up, mask, and spray parts to meet production requirements. Mask and/or grit blast part to prepare for coating. Use judgment in determining proper flow and speed of spray for the best results and compliance with all specifications. Operate equipment used to pre-stress aircraft components and to compress surface areas and strengthen material to meet production schedules, complying with customer requirements and FAA regulations. Interpret work orders, engine manuals, and blueprints to determine information such as type of operations, and sequence of operations required. Obtain laboratory approval of new sprays and processes, as required.Follow established procedures and parameters to meet customer requirements. Monitor and inspect work in progress to ensure acceptable operational standards are maintained and that the product meets all specifications and requirements. Oversee booth inspection processes. Qualifications: 1-3 years in aerospace environment desirable Good mathematical skills Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communications skills YourEducation Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. As a Health & Safety Specialist your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Health & Safety: Responsible for reinforcing and influencing an already strong safety culture by performing all Health & Safety regulatory compliance activities, including training and records management for employees (evaluate and/or design tests and courses; facilitate planning with training personnel including outside Subject Matter Experts, oversee employee compliance with assigned training, facilitate and deliver monthly safety training at offsite locations). Must be hands on.
