Job Description

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer in Wallingford, CT.

Quality Engineering role will focus on supporting diagnostics  Quality Management System. Utilize QE body of knowledge to establish, implement, and maintain ISO 13485 compliant processes and procedures. A background in Quality Assurance coupled with technical knowledge in the Life Science industry is preferred.  Refer to the following set of responsibilities for the position:

Key Responsibilities:

QE Process Leader : 

Primary Quality representative to lead the corrective action process and drive the organization to a high level of understanding and compliance to defined processes. Works with cross functional teams to investigate quality problems, perform root cause analysis and identify possible corrective actions.

Analyzes quality data to identify trends or issues which require action or CA.

  • Internal Audits – Process Leader
    • Coordinate internal audit program, ensuring we have a sufficient group of trained auditors
    • Manage the achievement of the internal audit schedule
    • Conducts, and/or participate in internal audits of various quality/manufacturing processes and report results.
  • Supports Material Review Board activities (NCMR)
  • Assists in creating and implementing procedures in the quality management system
  • Supports regulatory and customer audits

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree required with 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in an ISO compliant work environment is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of statistical techniques and quality tools (sampling plans, process capability, etc.)
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical product documentation (diagrams, schematics, flow-charts, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Able to coordinate multiple activities and actions of persons contributing to assigned tasks.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and timely in execution of assigned tasks.
  • Able to be flexible and adaptable when needs and priorities change
  • Performs other duties as required for ongoing compliance to ISO 13485
