We are currently seeking a Production Manager for a client in Shelton, CT.Responsibilities:Team Leadership and Work Allocation:Manage a dynamic team, including CNC and manual machinists, machinery assemblers, and production office staff, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes efficiency, quality, and maximum productivity.Organize and supervise production workflows, collaborating closely with the team to drive efficiency, boost productivity, and achieve cost reductions.Assign daily work orders to all production direct labor to ensure optimal utilization of resources, including workforce capacities, equipment availability, and vendor coordination.Supply Chain Optimization:Lead end-to-end supply chain management, orchestrating seamless coordination from material procurement to equipment assembly and testing.Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.Production Planning and Coordination:Plan, coordinate, and direct all production activities to achieve on-time shipment and customer delivery of high-quality parts and systems.Oversee production planning, scheduling, and purchasing functions, managing internal work, raw material ordering, and outsourced operations.Cost-Efficient Production Management:Ensure efficient and economical production at the lowest cost while maintaining high-quality standards, meeting volume requirements, adhering to inventory targets, and achieving production schedules and delivery dates.Problem Solving and Collaboration:Address production problems and collaborate with design engineers to enhance product manufacturability.Workflow Analysis and Downtime Reduction:Analyze and plan plant workflow, including machinery placement (work cells), to improve manufacturing efficiency.Implement robust monitoring mechanisms to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and proactively take measures to exceed company goals.Minimize downtime by coordinating maintenance and repair services, ensuring adherence to operator maintenance procedures and schedules.Employee Development and Skills Enhancement:Manage employee development, nurturing skills and preparing team members for future job assignments.Compliance and Quality Assurance:Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to ISO 9001-2015 and meet all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.Support quality assurance and initiate initiatives for scrap and waste reduction.Experience:Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent degree or experience.5 – 10 years of experience supervising or managing in a CNC machining manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of manufacturing machinery and processes, and machinery assembly and testing.Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (interpretation of engineering detail drawings).Proficiency in using MRP and similar computer-based technologies in a production-manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.Ability to lead, motivate and positively influence production workforce personnel.Must have prior Supervisory experience of direct labor production employees.Must be able to organize work and effectively use MRP system and available resources to achieve customer delivery requirements. As a Health & Safety Specialist your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Health & Safety: Responsible for reinforcing and influencing an already strong safety culture by performing all Health & Safety regulatory compliance activities, including training and records management for employees (evaluate and/or design tests and courses; facilitate planning with training personnel including outside Subject Matter Experts, oversee employee compliance with assigned training, facilitate and deliver monthly safety training at offsite locations). Must be hands on. We invest in excellent working partnerships, powered by people.We are currently seeking a Field Technician in Hollis, NYPosition Summary and Special Duties:As a (an) Field Technician your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Performs all aspects of work on rail cars being processed through the New Haven Rail Yard and Commissioning Warranty Sites. This includes all electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and any other duties requested by their supervisor.The position entails working on rail cars in the final assembly process at the New Haven facility or at a remote site. The technician will use standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, etc.) along with his or her ability to perform basic troubleshooting utilizing multi-meters and PC based test equipment. The technician will read piping diagrams, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and electrical schematics as required to accomplish the job assignment.The technician will perform test procedures on some the following systems: HVAC, Brakes, Propulsion, Communications systems, Toilet systems, Trainline systems, Sign systems, Automatic Train Control systems, general functional tests, Hipotential tests, Wining Continuity Tests, Pneumatic Leakage Tests, Dynamic Tests, Burn-in tests, etc.From time to time the Test technician will be required to assist and support the engineering group on various engineering tests.The test technician will interact directly with the customer on a regular basis and must have to ability to communicate clearly the intent and be confident in his or her assignment. The test technician will fill out all test documentation, reports and any other documentation required for the particular job assigned.The Field Technician will operate in many cases without direct supervision.
