We are currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Technician - Test in Shelton, CT.

 

Position Summary and Special Duties:

As a (an) Sr. Test Technician day to day duties will consist of and may not be limited to:

Notes – Looking for someone who can test the instruments, need an experienced tester who have done instrument testing and troubleshooting, and should also be able to work with computers/Windows environment

Title - Sr. Manufacturing Technician - Test

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and calibrate highly complex equipment and see that test records are properly maintained.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of microprocessor-based electronics.
  • Perform initial functional testing of both in-process and completed products.
  • Operate electrical and optical test equipment, including meters, scopes, and computer-controlled testing.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair test failures.
  • Complete Manufacturing and R&D testing tasks under engineering direction.
  • Position, align and locate parts in relationship to each other in jigs and fixtures.
  • Assemble multi-level electro-mechanical sub-assemblies into complex assemblies using a variety of hand tools.
  • Safely use compressed gasses including cylinder setup and operation on a daily basis.
  • The ability to set up, configure, and test hardware and software products
  • Functional testing and analysis of newly developed products to ensure operation and reliability
  • Assembling and disassembling test configurations as necessary
  • Be willing to learn new technologies and procedures to remain current with industry standards and new products

  • Other assignments as assigned. 
  • Perform process training with employees.

Qualifications/Education/Technical Skills:

  • Prior experience in a GMP manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to follow documented and verbal work instructions and take notes as required
  • General understanding of machinery and mechanics is advantageous.
  • Lean manufacturing experience a plus
  • Windows-based PC skills and experience with MS Office
  • Knowledge of SAP (or similar) a plus
  • Experience designing, building, and/or debugging Electrical & Electro-Mechanical assemblies desired, as well as knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; requires interaction with managers, supervisors, engineers, and other hourly associates in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to set-up and use basic hand tools and test fixtures.
  • Ability to assemble and align precision parts, requiring good manual dexterity.
  • Fluency with set-up and operation of digital test equipment (DVM, oscilloscopes).
  • Understanding and ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation (mechanical, electrical, and gas flow).
  • Available to work overtime as needed.
  • ISO experience a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on instrument testing and calibration of microprocessor-based instruments

Education

  • High school diploma required
  • Associates degree and 5-years’ experience related to instrument testing

DETAILS:

  • Shift: Shift Days: Monday - Friday 
  • 2nd Shift Hours: 3:30pm -12am 
  • 1st Shift Hours: 6am-2:30pm
    ***Special Notice all candidates need to be flexible to work on 1st or 2nd shift. Everyone will train on 1st shift and continue to work on 1st shift until further notice. 
  • Number – 4 Testers, (1 1st Shift, 3 2nd shift)
  • Duration: -12 Months
  • Location: Shelton, CT.
  • Salary: Pay - $28-30/hr depending on experience
