We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator in New Haven, CT

Responsible for the administration of assigned open systems across enterprise computing environment. Provides Tier 2/3 support.


 

Job Responsibilities

     The following duties reflect the primary responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Incumbent(s) may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

Responsibilities

Percent of Time

  1. Manages incidents to restore services for business-critical open system applications; evaluates, diagnoses and establishes plan to resolve issues and perform root cause analysis. Escalates and coordinates with other IT and business support personnel, IT teams, and vendors.

  1. Performs Administration for the Knights of Columbus’s suite of applications.  Duties may include ticket triage, provisioning access, maintenance, auditing and reporting, monitoring, notifications, escalations, documentation and cross-training, fulfilling application specific service requests.

  1. Supports production and non-production environments at the application layer and above.  Installation, configuration, and maintaining various client-server applications, including messaging/collaboration, imaging/workflow and a variety of business specific systems, both web-based and full client installed applications. Researches and recommends new or enhanced software and systems.    Participating as a SME resource in application or team specific projects.  May be asked to manage small projects to completion

  1. Participates in an On-call after hours support rotation schedule with weekend business critical maintenance responsibilities.  Needs to be available and respond to and resolve after hours business critical incidents and maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The depth and breadth of knowledge within the position’s field or specialty that is required to effectively perform the responsibilities of this position, e.g., insurance, KofC structure and processes. Describe the type and level of skills required to handle the position’s responsibilities, e.g., mathematical/analytical, communication, typing, spreadsheet.

 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of the ITSM framework; Incident, Problem, and Change Management
  • Strong troubleshooting technique & skillset and problem-solving skills
  • Sound judgment in decision making while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • A focus on customer satisfaction and high-quality service delivery, with strong interpersonal skills and responsiveness
  • Ability to work on call and after hours/weekend support on rotation
  • Light project management skills are a plus

 

Systems/Technical Knowledge:

 

  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Office 365/Exchange administration
  • Robotic Process Automation software administration (Blueprism, LINX, etc.)
  • Document Management Software (AWD, IDM, etc)
  • FTP & SFTP File transfer software ( Cerberus SFTP, SolarWinds SFTP/SCP, etc)  
  • Enterprise Insurance platform experience (Ingenium, L70, etc) a plus
  • Active Directory/Azure experience a plus
  • Database Administration skills (MS SQL, DB2, etc) a plus

Within KofC:  All departments.

Outside of KofC: External service providers and vendors.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Education: BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Experience: 3-5 years of IT experience in support of a variety of enterprise applications or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Licensing/Certification: ITIL Foundation certificate desirable
