FAA Supervisor

$21.43 - $27.86 per hour

As a (an) FAA Inspector your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Description Core Responsibilities: Perform a variety of duties to independently complete incoming, layout, first piece, in-process and final inspection of engine components being repaired. Perform dimensional and visual inspections on engine components. Ensure quality detailed inspection follows all applicable manuals and technical data. Read and understand engine manuals, illustrated parts manuals and other technical data to perform receiving, basic, in-process and final inspection activities. Operate computerized measuring equipment, train, and assist other inspectors as required. Complete correct and concise documentation of compliance to requirements on organizational, customer and/or regulatory documents. Perform a full spectrum of dimensional inspections of parts involving extremely close tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, ID micrometers, borescopes, pi tapes, etc. The shift hours are Fri., Sat., & Sun.; 6 AM. - 6 PM & 6PM-6AM Qualifications: 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in an aerospace environment. Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communications skills. Previous FAA Certified Repairman or Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic highly desirable. Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments (i.e. various micrometers, verniers, swing, snap, and dial gauges, etc.) Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.Experience with CMM operation and programming is a differentiator. Good mathematical skills. This position is a safety sensitive position. Applicants must comply with all applicable FAA and DOT drug and alcohol testing rules. Field Technician

As a (an) Field Technician your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Performs all aspects of work on rail cars being processed through the New Haven Rail Yard and Commissioning Warranty Sites. This includes all electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and any other duties requested by their supervisor. The position entails working on rail cars in the final assembly process at the New Haven facility or at a remote site. The technician will use standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, etc.) along with his or her ability to perform basic troubleshooting utilizing multi-meters and PC based test equipment. The technician will read piping diagrams, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and electrical schematics as required to accomplish the job assignment.The technician will perform test procedures on some the following systems: HVAC, Brakes, Propulsion, Communications systems, Toilet systems, Trainline systems, Sign systems, Automatic Train Control systems, general functional tests, HI potential tests, Wining Continuity Tests, Pneumatic Leakage Tests, Dynamic Tests, Burn-in tests, etc.From time to time the Test technician will be required to assist and support the engineering group on various engineering tests.The test technician will interact directly with the customer on a regular basis and must have the ability to clearly communicate the intent and be confident in his or her assignment. The test technician will fill out all test documentation, reports and any other documentation required for the job assigned.The Field Technician will operate in many cases without direct supervision. He will be the lead in performing his tasks. The Field technician is not a novice position. He or She is required to take the lead in the assignment and guide the Function Test Technician or Rail Car Technician assigned with him. The Field Technician is to initiate the call for vendor, engineering, or manufacturing support first, then report to the supervisor the results or need for further assistance.The Field Technician will enter discrepancies into the database system. The Field Technician will accurately report his or her time on the job to the supervisor. The ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented, highly organized and able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of wage and hour laws. Candidates must display a high level of professionalism and be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. Responsibilities for this position include: -Processing payroll for 300 employees on a bi-weekly basis. Please note, we currently use paper timesheets and a large amount of manual calculations will be necessary.-Managing accounts receivable and payable.-Filing quarterly and annual tax returns.-Processing necessary liens and wage garnishments.-Completing censuses and preparing for audits for our worker’s compensation and 401k plans.-Preparing and filing 1099s, 945s, 941s and 1096s.-Creating monthly invoices for our contracted vendors.
