Manufacturing Technical Leader

This role will master the Production Technology and Maintenance Techniques being responsible for:Loss (Breakdown, Waste, Speed), Investigation and ResolutionDevelopment of Maintenance standardsImplementation of basic maintenance processes for the designated product linesBuilding maintenance skills for the operatorsExecution of maintenance activities in the line (planned/ unplanned when available)Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. As a (an) Manufacturing Technical Leader your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Responsibilities:Loss (Breakdown, Waste, Speed) Investigation and ResolutionAttend Tier 1 and Production Analysis Board (PAB) meetings providing engineering status of line and agree resource deployment and timings to close losses.Resolve repeat loss issues using systematic problem-solving techniques to determine root cause.Support Shift Technicians in Investigation of losses (Breakdowns, Waste, Speed) to ensure countermeasure is effective.Coach Technicians and Operators in quality and effectiveness of problem-solving tools and robustness of countermeasuresSupport all CI projects/validations as required to help improve equipment reliabilityDevelopment of Maintenance standardsEngage with Operators and Technicians to effectively use Daily Task Maintenance and Planned and Preventative Maintenance to increase OEE and safety performanceProvide details to improve Maintenance Standards and execution (Frequency, Breakdowns and Repairs) to Reliability Leader based on problem solving outcomes and DTM/PPM activity. Coaching on continuous improvement methodologies & toolsImplementation of basic maintenance process and settings for the designated product line(s).Engage in planning process for Maintenance activities.Lead Maintenance activity for respective line in conjunction with Preventative Maintenance Leader.Maintain critical equipment settings, standards and close loop on changes made.Building maintenance skills for Technicians and Operators.Provide Training and Coaching to Operators and Technicians on DTM/ PPM Maintenance activities and standards. Execution of maintenance activities in the line (planned/ unplanned when available).Ensure all preventative maintenance activities are performed effectively, including opportunistic maintenance working with Preventative Maintenance Leader to plan same.Record maintenance details in full on the designated forms/ SAP.Report and action any abnormalities observed during Daily Task Maintenance / Planned Preventative Maintenance to reduce losses.Record spares used during maintenance / unplanned breakdowns in line Maintenance requirements.Responsible for equipment breakdown response and escalation process in an expedient manner.Other duties as required to support the needs of the business. This position involves the use of CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machine shop equipment. Primarily Vertical Turret Lathe with Fanuc Controls and 5 axis Mori DMG with Siemens controls. As a (an) CNC Machinist your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Responsibilities:Set up and operate, with knowledge of desirable speeds and feeds for various alloys. Ability to safely and effectively fixture and set up a variety of castings of various sizes and shapes. Knowledge of standard G codes, ability to use various measuring equipment to verify work performed along with the ability to offset and edit if needed to attain a quality part the first time every time. The ability to program is desirable. Most of the work is done on castings in a high mixed low volume environment. Set up and operate CNC 5 Axis MillingVertical and Horizontal Machining Experience with Mastercam preferredExperience with SolidWorks a plus Education / Certification:High school graduate preferred - will consider commensurate experience. Has passed Certification Test established by the Company for each machine that is used without close supervision. Requirements: Experience in Mastercam on horizontal CNC milling machine as well as VTL.Program and setup 5 axis machine.Working knowledge of other forms of CAD software, Vericut and SolidWorks is a plus.Understand GD&T, read and interpret blueprints.Ability to hold tight tolerances.Strong verbal communication.Assist in helping operators to maintain production and quality.
