We invest in excellent working partnerships, powered by people.We are currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector in Washington, DC 20018Position Summary and Special Duties:As a (an) Quality Control Inspector your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to:Responsibilities:Performs Quality Control (QC) inspection on parts and sub-assemblies of rail cars. Performs visual inspection of parts and equipment to ensure conformance to quality standards and to identify non-conformance where it occurs.Performs all work according to engineering drawings, written work procedures, and verbal and written instructions.Uses scales, tape, calipers, micrometer, combination-square and other measuring equipment to inspect parts, equipment, and their proper installation to rail car body. Has the capability of using English and Metric systems of measurement.Records data and findings from inspections in inspection reports and related documentation with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail. Demonstrates an excellent mechanical aptitude.The QC Inspector must be able to read and interpret all engineering drawings and blueprints, and has a demonstrated proficiency in all inspection phases listed below. Must be proficient in the English measurement system and be able to learn the Metric system of measurement within a specified period of time. Must be capable of working in an active manufacturing environment, be able to climb stairs and ladders, and be able to lift, push, or pull at maximum 40 lbs. As a Materials Control Attendant our day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to:Key Responsibilities:Using written work procedures, engineering drawings, and verbal & written instructions. Performs material control functions such as kiting, tracking, and moving material.Has proficiency in at least five (5) Material Control functions as identified below.Picks parts identified on kit lists and assembles them into kits with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail.Efficiently assembles multiple kits from kit lists.Warehousing: Performs all warehousing functions, including shipping and receiving functions, with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, attention to detail and careful documentation.Maintains shelf locations by cycle counts as prescribed by written work procedures.Picks parts from the warehouse while maintaining orderly and good housekeeping habits.Maintains a good working knowledge of the Company’s computer inventory system to perform routine tasks of verifying inventory, researching transactions, transfers, issues and receipts.Effectively researches problems and reconciles discrepancies. Makes clear and accurate reports of findings.Understands the production process and efficiently services and expedites material for production.Identifies, notifies, and tracks shortages and lost or damaged materials.Job Qualifications:Must have at minimum, three (3) years of work experience in a material control, stockroom, or related capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Must know how to use a tape measure, hammer and nails, and other hand tools. SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is a must skill to have for the below position Project Overview:The Financial Controls and Accrual Analyst provides support in the areas of cost accounting, financial analyses and reporting, and internal controls. SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). Dashboards Job Functions and Responsibilities:Prepare and post monthly accruals journal entries, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses and revenue to the appropriate periods.Provide essential assistance in the preparation of the Quarterly Financial presentation and consolidated financial package, contributing to accurate and insightful reporting.Collaborate in the production of the Monthly Financial Package, ensuring timely delivery of accurate financial information to internal stakeholders.Review project invoices and approvals to ensure correct SAP purchase order number, account assignment, dollar value, approval levels, verify available funding, and backup documentation.Coordinate project reconciliation process with Engineers based on construction completion milestones. Analyze and identify variances between SAP and Engineers final scope of work for material, labor, fees, abatement and other associated costs.Prepare financial closeout of project in SAP including closeout of all contract dollar commitments, verification of 100% billing for project cost recovery, preparation of all accounting journal entries to reconcile SAP costs and final closeout memo.Support Financial Controls staff.Distribute all billing memos, closeout memos, journal entries to Accounting and Billing departments and for updates to Primavera. Skills:Excellent organizational and planning skills are required.Strong written and oral communication skills are required to effectively communicate with customers as well as program staff and management.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and is required.Strong knowledge of SAP is preferred.Proficient in Cost Accounting and/or accounting methods and theory.Familiarity with Primavera is preferred.Strong analytical skills are required.General understanding of fee schedules.General understanding of contract terms and conditions is preferred.Ability to provide support on statewide initiatives is required. Operate associated pressroom equipment such as washer, decoiler, etc. Use material handling equipment to move raw material, finished goods and supplies. Perform quality checks as per control plans to produce defect free products Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet specifications and dimensions. Keep production machines functioning properly and perform normal maintenance of equipment. Keep all fluids at proper operating levels in machines. Accurately keep required records for each job running, including routing cards, production slips, charts, etc. Thoroughly understand and follow scrap handling procedure. Keep work area clean. • Follow all procedures as outlined in the Quality System. Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures. Project Overview:The Financial Systems Analyst (FSA) helps Business Services division under Chief Financial Officer bridge gaps between technology and business processes, enabling leadership to make informed business decisions which contribute to maintaining its competitive margin and financial integrity in the ever-evolving electric utility industry.The FSA is directly responsible for the development and maintenance of financial systems utilized within Finance, and is a strategic partner for the team, which includes Financial Planning and Analysis, Revenue Pricing and Analysis, Budgets, Accounting, and Treasury.The FSA assists software package users in day-to-day activities, including but not limited to data loads, maintenance, data extraction, maintenance of the existing systems, and development of new reporting packages.The FSA analyses and researches existing processes that are configured outside of the structured software platform, documents processes, proposes and assists in the implementation efforts of solutions within the financial software platforms.Assist with design and maintenance of automated financial tools and systems to ensure quality information and reports are produced and delivered to senior management on a timely basis. Job Functions & Responsibilities:Develop and maintain “flat file” data preparation tools to ensure seamless input data loads into SAC software platform.Perform SAC master data maintenance and necessary updates.Support various SAC end users in resolution of issues related to software navigation, data version updates and reporting.Conduct research, document findings, propose and present solutions for migration of existing Excel based processes into the SAC platform.Collaborate with IT staff and/or outside vendor(s) in effectuating configuration changes requiring advanced system knowledge.Implement additional reports to present data in a concise and useful fashion.Implement financial models and modeling changes to quantify the potential impacts of industry changes and changes in NYPA’s overall business, including net income forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and relevant financial metrics. Test calculations and ensure accuracy of the models.Represent Business Services during additional software selection processes and subsequent implementations. Skills:Working knowledge of one or more of the following areas required: finance, mathematics, accounting, or economics.Familiarity with utility finance and/or the NYISO market preferred.Strong analytical and research skills required.Ability to organize data, conduct research, document findings and report on analyses in a logical and effective manner, and a demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other computer applications and file organization procedures is required.Demonstrated ability to use Pivot Tables, Tables and Database formulas within MS Excel.
