Quality Control Technician
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform non-routine visual, mechanical, functional, dimensional or electrical inspection of a variety of products during assembly through final systems assembly
- May work with customer Engineers and suppliers to ensure Quality specifications are met
- Responsible for the inspection of production and R&D/prototype in-process work orders
- Inspect all product and assemblies to Dakota standards and customer expectations
- Use a wide variety of test instruments and equipment to measure values and record functional operation of components; make recommendations for improving processes
- Responsible for MRB process which includes holding weekly MRB meetings with the MRB log up-to-date with accurate information
- Maintain integrity and consistency during the inspection of all product
- Maintain continuous communication regarding Quality between all departments
- Provide continuous feed back to production as to adherence to workmanship standards
- Escalate Quality issues to meet customer satisfaction
- Creates discrepancy reports as required
- Responsible for all equipment calibration functions
- Ensure that all Quality equipment is under calibration control as required
- Function as the ‘gate’ for all product leaving the facility rejecting all non-conforming product
- Read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and inspection instructions
- Use standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges and test fixtures, etc.
- Good computer skills in a windows environment, MRP/ERP systems; MS Office
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 1+ years related experience in QC manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ISO process controls preferred
- Knowledge of Inventory Control Practices helpful
